One Year Portrait

Since Laney's last professional photo shoot was at ten weeks old, I wanted to make sure and book a traditional studio session at age one. The photographer did a great job at capturing her personality, after warming her up with bubbles and a bunny puppet of course. I love how they turned out.

Laney's 1st Birthday

Laney's first birthday party was Saturday, June 18, 2011. We went with a ladybug theme because her daddy started calling her Laneybug early on and it stuck. Cherry Tree 123 made her outfit and I found the invites on Etsy.  For decorations, I didn't want to overdo it with ladybugs and their typical colors, so I did tissue poms in red, pink, turquoise, yellow and green. I found scrapbook paper with the same colors so I used that for her name banner and pennants on the back porch and the cake. 

The birthday girl didn't feel very well at her party. Her uncle Wes took a look at her ears that morning, which were clear, but one was infected by Monday. She powered through her party on an extremely hot day and ended up having a good time. We were so blessed to have our family and many friends there to celebrate with us!

Olivia loved the ice and fed it to the other kids. It was HOT!

Party food included turkey burger sliders, chips and dip, cheese straws, caprese bites, watermelon, and animal crackers. In hindsight I would have done sandwiches so Donald wouldn't have had to endure more heat from the grill!

Ladybug cupcakes were made by Megalicious Cupcakes. Wish I had taken a photo close-up. My inspiration for the design was a felt hair clip on Etsy and Meg copied it perfectly. The clip also was my color inspiration for decorations. 

Best friends from high school made it to the party! Lindsey and Harper (and Chad) stopped by on their way home from the beach and Nicole flew in from New Jersey.

Laney 12 to 19 months
